Every design has a story, a narrative, some told and some untold. For Leila Abotira, founder of ALIEL, design is a form of unraveling the concealed, constantly drawing inspiration from the elusive notions within. Her design is her inner catharsis.

We love us some little mystery bags with lots of secrets, especially considering how stunning and well crafted ALIEL's bags are. The brand, which launched in 2017, has been pushing boundaries with bold designs and striking photo-shoots ever since. The bags are crafted from smooth, high quality calf leather and they arrive in a variety of exquisitely designed shapes and styles.

Their latest creation, the Half Moon Bag, might be their finest. Fit for the femme-fatale, this gorgeous bag is offered in a set of mesmermisingly rich colours ranging from jet black, to hot red, to enchanting emerald green and mysterious plum.

The daring shoot, which was styled by Lamia Rady and shot by Hue Squared, perfectly captures and encapsulates what ALIEL is about as a brand; a place where memories and tradition are fused in a slick modernised synthesis of styles. Coming from a family of artists and designers, Leila constantly drew inspiration from her surroundings, eventually fulfilling her own vision and building ALIEL, a brand that represents her voice and her individuality.
