Central Bank of Egypt Will No Longer Accept Bank Notes with Writing on Them
Any bank notes with writing or stamps will no longer be accepted in bank transactions.
The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced on Monday the ban of any banknotes with writing on them, emphasising that they will no longer be recognised in bank transactions, according to Egypt Independent.
According to a source in CBE, who was quoted by Extra News Channel, banknotes lose part of their authenticity when stamps and text are added. Following international developments where bank insurance marks are concerned, CBE's recent ban is in accordance with the same rule applied in banks globally.
