Imagine taking a brisk jog, only to get a coloured powder dashed at your face. Sound fun, no?
It's a global event that's taken places in over 200 cities in over 40 countries; one that has welcomed over 70 million participants and single-handedly transformed many a grey cityscape into spectacular operas of color. It's an event that is coming to Egypt for the very first (and hopefully not last) time. We speak, boys and girls, of the Color Run - an untimed, five kilometre marathon that is as much about having fun as it is about that thorny thing called 'fitness'.
Taking place on the streets of New Giza on Saturday 13th of April, the event is shaping up to be quite the occasion, as the satisfaction of exercise meets the unexplained ludicrous fun of having coloured powder thrown at you, only to have it seep into every crevice of your body.
Presented by I-Events and powered by New Giza, the larger-than-life event that's unlike any run you've had before will see runners receive the gift of colour at every kilometre Certainly perfect for children, mothers and whole families who want to experience fitness in an engaging and entertaining way.
The run starts nice and early at 9.30AM, but the best is yet to come. After the runners victoriously conquer the run, completely and utterly doused in color, they can celebrate in the extravagant Finish Festival where the fun truly lies - a non-stop fiesta of music from retro-mashing duo, Disco Misr, and Coldplay cover band, Strawberry Swing, the quirky Bubblegum Kollectiv and the oh so funky Crash Boom Bang, as well as quirky photo ops, entertaining family activities, thirst quenching refreshments, delicious food-bites and even more of that colour in the crevices.
