Lawyer Mona Zulficar Becomes First Woman to Win Prestigious ILFR Lifetime Achievement Award
Mona Zulficar received the Lifetime Achievement Award for her tendency to be the first at things in Egypt.
Mona Zulficar, founding partner of Zulficar & Partners law firm, received the Lifetime Achievement Award at The International Financial Law Review's Middle East 2018 awards. The award marks Zulficar as not only the first Egyptian to receive the award, but also the first woman globally.
Zulficar was acknowledged for her inventiveness in the marketplace, having created Egypt's first public-private partnership contract (PPP), and the first leveraged buyout in Egypt. She also was the mind behind the $13 billion sale of Orascom's building materials, making it as the biggest Merge & Acquisition to happen in Egypt.
Sharkawy and Sarhan – another Egyptian law firm, also received Egypt's law firm of the year award. The IFLR awards take place in Dubai every year.
