Cairo's Metro to Install Automatic Ticket Machines by End of 2018

Egypt's Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Transport are planning on installing automatic ticket machines at metro stations. So long, standing in messy lines just to get your ticket.

A specialised international company is supplying the ticket machines to Egypt. According to the Finance Ministry, this is a step towards reducing traffic at metro stations across Cairo.

Tests of the product have been done and were successful, further stated the Ministry. In addition, several metro stations throughout Egypt had ATMs installed in them, as well as change stations for users who don't have change for the ticket machines.

Both ticket and change machines will be imported into Egypt by the end of the year, Finance Minister Sherif Hazem said.
