You Will Now Know EXACTLY How Much Your Uber Trip Will Cost Before Ordering a Ride

In a text message to its  customers, Uber Egypt announced that users of the ride-hailing app will no longer have to pay within a certain range (which is normally quite unpredictable) for rides ordered through its UberX and Uber Select options. Instead, passengers will be given a fixed fare for any ride based on distance and estimated traffic.

Further clarifying, Uber's representatives said that in case of an updated destination or unexpected traffic, the fare will be recalculated based on the actual time and distance travelled.

Careem, now operating under Uber, hasn't announced any changes to its faring system, though it has revealed that on-demand 'hantours' and 'feluccas' are soon to be available through its app in several Egyptian cities.
