Trio’s Grill Corner is Making Street Food Feel Like Home Again

Giving Egyptian street food some much needed TLC, Trio’s is the new Zamalek food joint putting their twist on the classics we know and love. Having just opened its doors on August 2nd, Trio’s Grill Corner is the brainchild of friends and partners Norair Mekhtikian, Tony and Edward Michel, and Christine Sarkis.

“The idea was born out of quarantine, we just started cooking the things we loved to eat at home. The recipes are based on my wife Christine’s home recipes, and all of our meals are prepared per order so everything is fresh,” Mekhtikian told Scene Eats.

Everything from their meat to their fries are prepared in-house and very little of their ingredients stay overnight or is frozen. “We don’t make anything in batches, instead everything is prepared by order. It takes a lot more time but we believe the result is worth it. We want the meals to come out exactly how we would make them at home,” Mekhtikian said.

Their menu features street food classics like grilled sojouk as well as amped up variations like sojouk hawawshi with cheese, and even vegetarian options like grilled eggplant and veggie fattah.

The food joint is located in Zamalek at 8 Sayed El Bakri street near Madrasa el Qawmeya, or you can order through +2 0122 653 2212 from 10 am to 12 am.
