HUWA's ‘Through his Eyes’ collection gives voice to the sort of man who likes to wax philosophical about the nature of the universe, with chunky silver rings, chains, and wire-bent pieces.
HUWA has been one of the few brands to carry the local men’s jewellery industry on their back and for good reason. Since their establishment in 2017, their daring designs enriched with fine metals have been vehicles for personal self-expression. Their latest ‘Through his Eyes’ collection gives voice to the sort of man who likes to wax philosophical about the nature of the universe, with chunky silver rings, chains, and wire-bent pieces.
“Through His Eyes is a collection inspired by the different ways negative events and times of turbulence are seen and experienced,” Huwa tells @SceneStyled. “Derived from the spontaneity of events sustained over the past two years, the collection has been designed to showcase unusual interpretations of the evil eye, adapting its traditional symbolism into contemporary designs.”
The shoot itself, featuring bright eyed model and actor Ahmed Hassanein, syphons the culturally-bound motif of the evil eye, pertaining to its karmic connotations and maintaining principles of positive energy. “Some creations have been abstracted, some de-constructed, and turned into surrealistic patterns as an ode to different perspectives,” HUWA says. “It has transformed our eyes from vessels that visually experience, into creations that offer protection and a sense of gratitude.”
In an attempt to detangle the naughts of a traumatic past, Through His Eyes - bare with us as it gets existential - has tapped into that ‘good omen and energetically elevated’ colour palette. Put simply, the collection compels you to bury your absolutist ideologies and succumb to the world of superstition.
The collection drops mid-June, so bookmark https://huwadesign.com/ to shop as soon as it drops.
