VIDEO: Check Out Samsung's New Smart Windshield For Motorcycles

With all the futuristic revolutions in transportation technology mainly focused on vehicles of the four-wheeled variety, it’s exciting to see a bit of technological innovation for those of us comfortable with getting around on two wheels. 

 

Samsung is showing off a concept for a smart windshield for motorcycles as part of a partnership with Yamaha. The gizmo is remarkably simple, connecting with your smartphone to display notifications and navigation information directly on the motorcycle windshield using a tiny projector. It also allows for automated responses so you don’t have to take your hands off the handlebars to let the person who’s blowing up your phone know to “chill out, I’m driving.” The interface is minimalistic with no extra information or flashy icons than necessary, so you can focus on not exploding and dying as you zip around busy traffic. The smart windshield is just a concept at this point, but it seems like one of the first setups to have a shot at becoming a real thing in the not-too-distant future. Here’s hoping they make a version of it for scooters, too.
