6 Hotels You Didn't Know Existed in Sahel

Planning a weekend on the North Coast can be a stressful affair if you don't know someone who knows someone who's renting out their property. We've got those looking to avoid drama covered...

Staff Writer

So you want to head to Sahel but you don't know a millionaire with a house in Marassi (does anyone actually own a place there?) and your friends with Hacienda Cabanas already over-invited people to stay, while your extended family fight about which aunt's turn it is to spend the weekend at the shared place... Here are six hotels open for business all summer long.

Bayside Beach Resort

This newly opened resort is the Sahel dream come true; between the glamorous blue of their pools and the sea view you will find yourself relaxing, partying, and having a good night's sleep with the sound of the waves crashing. It's the location of some of the hottest events this summer, so if you prefer a quiet vacation, this perhaps, isn't the spot for you. But if you're a social butterfly this is the place to be. Inside Hacienda Bay, their gorgeous cabanas get snapped up quick so make your reservation well in advance.

Al-Alamein Hotel

Since Al-Alamein hotel is one of the best regarding prices, service, facilities, and activities and with a rating of 8.3/10 on Booking.com, you will most probably have to reserve your rooms really early before going there (we're talking 2 or 3 weeks earlier). Located inside Marassi means you're in the middle of all the summer action, from parties to dining.

Rixos Hotel

Ranking number one on Tripadvisor for best hotels in North Coast, this five-star resort features pools, sea view rooms, free internet almost everywhere, and the ability to cancel your reservation. If you are looking for a luxurious stay in Sahel, then Rixos must be your choice for its excellent service, wide selection of dining menus, activities, and comfy beds. All at a price of 4700 LE per night for a full-board stay (taxes and service charges are included)!

Iberotel Borg El Arab

Closer to the Agami side of Sahel, this prestigious 5 star hotel offers a superior double room at a price of 1,057 LE for one person per night with the breakfast meal (Taxes and services included), as well as family rooms at a price of 1,722 LE (2 Adults) and 2,443 LE (3 Adults). With an impressive stretch of private beach, interconnected pools, modern amenities and close the airport, this is a hidden gem.

Porto Marina Resort & Spa

Who hasn’t heard of Porto Marina? The amount of activities Porto Marina offers mean its perfect for families: kids and teens will find wind surfing, fishing, darts, water sports facilities, water park, game room, entertainment staff, and golf. There is, as well, free parking, fitness centre and gym, Internet (costs $24 for 24 hours), restaurants, and onsite-shops all offered at 1,722 LE per night with breakfast (taxes and service charges are not included) making it one of the cheapest, yet most centrally located hotels on the North Coast.

Siesta Marina Hotel

For those on a budget, and access to a beach elsewhere, the Siesta Marina Hotel - right opposite Marina Gate 5 - combines a pool, a decent roof over your head and a stellar location starting from 1400 LE per night. It's on the opposite side to the sea, so make sure you've got access to a private beach before you make your booking and don't hold your breath for five-star treatment but rather a place to crash. Fun fact: this is where Tamarai the Cafe used to be!
