So silver accessories are nothing new, especially in Egypt where the metal reigns supreme, but every once in a while you come across a brand that creates silver pieces that are unique and feel fresh and different. Abboud Accessories is one such brand; we came across their intricate silver creations on Instagram and suddenly we weren’t so sick of silver pieces, and couldn’t wait to get our hands on some of theirs.

The original shapes and forms of the jewellery is what first caught our eye about the brand, which was started by Amina Abboud a few years ago. Fresh out of high school, she started small, only selling to friends and family before a friend insisted she create and Instagram account and go bigger. The pieces are a mix between items she’s designed herself and vintage finds she’s gotten from scouring silver workshops. “Some of the pieces I design myself, but for a lot of others I’ll go to Al Hussein and go into all the werash and browse around in search of pieces. Those are actually vintage so I have to go looking for them,” Abboud tells us.

The stunning silver pieces are definitely very intrinsically Egyptian in style. Infused with cool stones, and Arabic calligraphy, Abboud describes them as “wakhdeen ro7 masreya.”
