After a long pause, the Cairo Marathon is finally back - and this time it’s setting off where it all started. With the starting line in Heliopolis’ Merryland Park, Cairo Runners and ievents invite athletes and casual joggers alike for a run down the old-school streets of Heliopolis to support an important cause: our mental health.

Taking place on May 20th under the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the event’s hashtag #RunWithIt will gather a web of support for Egyptian mental health.

“We are happy to work with Cairo Runners since we aim to spread this marathon internationally,” Amr Mansy, CEO of ievents, tells CairoScene. “That’s why we chose to collaborate with Cairo Runners, which shares our vision of expanding this marathon to a higher level.”

The marathon will include the 21k Half Marathon Run, the 10k Run and 5k Fun Run runs. It will also bring in two inclusive 2k runs: the Family Run and the Differently Abled Run. Don’t leave right after though, there’s an afterparty filled with surprises.
