Cairo University Launches Student Contest for Sustainable Solutions

The competition invites students to submit their sustainable solutions in video or poster form in celebration of World Sustainability Day.

In celebration of World Sustainability Day, Cairo University is launching a competition that invites students to come up with sustainable innovations, and present them through either video or poster form. The competition will focus on one of several sustainability goals: environmental sustainability, reducing energy consumption, renewable energy, minimizing water consumption, and reducing the carbon footprint.

The winners will be awarded a monetary prize for each category. In the video competition, the first place winner will receive EGP 2000, while second place wins EGP 1500, and third place gets EGP 1000. For poster design, first place will win EGP 1500, second place win EGP 750, and third place gets EGP 500.

It is worth noting that Cairo University is the first public university in Egypt to have a sustainability office that actively promotes institutional sustainability through its research on environmentally friendly, economically viable solutions.

Students interesting in participating in the competition should send their application by Monday, October 25th through this link: shorturl.at/pyARW
