Egypt & UAE Join Forces to Manufacture Bi-Fuel Vehicles

Egypt's Ministry of Military Production and the Emirati investment company M Glory Holding have signed an agreement to create a 22,000 m2 factory called the Egyptian Emirates Company for the Automotive Industry, which will produce bi-fuel vehicles that use gasoline and natural gas.

The Cairo-based company will primarily focus on pickup trucks with several different models, and is hoped to make Egypt's automotive industry more environmentally-friendly. This decision coincides with the general goals of the national Go Green initiative to encourage the use of natural gas over petrol, such as by allowing Egyptians to buy natural gas-powered cars through financial incentives, or swap their petrol-powered cars for natural-gas powered ones.
