Egypt’s First Battle of the Wheels Announces Road Trip To Find the Nation's Next Racing Champion

The search for Egypt’s next Vin Diesel is officially on as the visionaries who brought you The Battle of the Burgers and The Battle of the Bands, KULT, return with a one-of-a-kind driver showdown appropriately entitled The Battle of the Wheels. This high-octane challenge will be driving to various cities across Oum El Donia challenging drivers in various disciplines to find and crown Egypt’s next driving superstar.

Gentleman, start your engines because this ambitious battle begins its search by driving into three different cities starting with auditions in Cairo from March 9th-11th, followed by auditions in Alexandria from March 16th-18th. After which The Battle of the Wheels will be driving into Mansoura holding auditions on March 23rd to the 25th, before heading back to Cairo for one last massive chance to qualify at the final auditions on April 6th until the 8th. More than just a simple race, this unique competition will be holding auditions in multiple disciplines including time trials, a gymkhana test and a drift test. At the auditions, each applicant can perform in all the disciplines and with the judges picking the top scores to move on to the next stage.

Acting as the face of the campaign and helping to judge the competition is one of Egypt’s most decorated driving champions, Rami Serry. The 17-year racing veteran Rami Serry is not only Egypt’s first winner of the infamous Red Bull Car Drift Challenge in Egypt but is the only driver in the MENA region to ever receive a Formula Drift Championship license to compete in the US. The Egyptian driving legend couldn’t be more excited about his involvement in the Battle of The Wheels, telling us that “I am really looking forward to giving back to the community and finally having a platform that provides an opportunity and a clear path to succeed in motorsports in Egypt.”

Serry incredible journey to reach the podium was incredibly difficult as there was no established path for drifters to take in Egypt, but that didn’t stop him from achieving his dream. The misconception that many have entering motorsports is that success will come by simply winning championships. However, the truth is that just getting the opportunity to race requires a multitude of preparations ranging from finding sponsors and creating a brand to modifying cars.

Looking to help applicants focus on developing their driving skills, The Battle of the Wheels aims to provide the support drivers will need to successfully launch their career. “There’s a lot more to racing than just winning championships. When I started, there was no path to take, I had to make one and now I am proud that I set the trail that people can now follow. The introduction of the first Battle of the Wheels is a really exciting platform because it will help highlight unknown Egyptian drivers, making it easier to find sponsors and aid in taking care of the business aspect of the motorsport allowing competitors to focus on developing their driving skills,” passionately describes drifting champion Serry. The Battle of the Wheels will be announcing all outstanding details on their Facebook page. If you think you can drive in a manner that is both fast and furious, then The Battle of the Wheels is your best chance to prove Vin Diesel ain’t nothing without his nitrous boost of CGI, as you embark on an adrenaline filled journey made possible by actual driving trailblazers like Rami Serri.
