Egyptian Wins Vogue Eyewear Summer House Competition

The much coveted trip to the sunny and beautiful shores of Phuket, courtesy of Vogue Eyewear, has been won! That's right, Vogue Eyewear have announced the winner of their Summer House: Destination Thailand competition and has transported one lucky lady along with three of her nearest and dearest to the exotic destination of Thailand laden with Vogue sunglasses galore. Who is the lucky girl? Marina Magdy.

How did this 22-year old recent graduate from the Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University win her dream trip? “That's a fun story to tell,” she says. “To earn my Summer House points, my Style Miles, I insisted my best friend, who moved to the US 3 years ago and was recently in Egypt on vacation, buy Vogue sunglasses as gifts for her friends as it would give me extra miles to win the trip. She bought 3 pairs and I bought 2 pairs for me and my mum. The rest of the points were earned by reading articles, commenting and sharing. It's a really fun website!”

It is clear that her dedication to earning Style Miles was key and upon hearing the amazing news that she had won the competition, Marina felt overwhelmed (who wouldn't?), she tells us, "I couldn't believe my eyes. I kept jumping up and down like a fool. I was really happy!" The exotic seaside villa welcomes Marina and her three friends, Mai, Eman and Shymaa, for a week's worth of indulging in the sun, pampering themselves with luxurious Spa treatments and exploring the bustling night life of Thailand. “My favourite moment after hearing I had won the competition was telling my friends that they were coming with me. They are so excited, but what I'm looking forward to most, to be honest, are the beaches and the elephant ride! I also saw some pictures of the house, it looks amazing.”

Upon asking Marina what her packing must-haves for this trip are she tells us, "My essentials are my bikini and my pair of Vogue glasses. I can't thank the Vogue Eyewear team enough for this opportunity. We are so excited and completely ready for this opportunity. I also have to add that Sandy, the ambassador for the Vogue Summer House competition is great, she is an idol to a lot of girls my age."
