Fairmont Wedding Festival

Once upon a time, “wedding season” was well defined. We’d have one in the spring and one in autumn, then we could all breathe a sigh of relief and begin binge eating again. However, times have changed and people are getting married all year round. If you’re one half of a lucky couple getting married next year, or are part of the planning for a friend’s or family member’s big day, do yourself a favour and get a head start on the preparations at Cairo’s biggest and most glamorous wedding festival, in its fourth edition at the fabulous Fairmont Heliopolis and Towers this December.

“Choose your partner and leave the rest to us,” reads the invite, and they’re right. We visited last year’s festival to see what the latest in bridal trends were/hate on the smug, happy couples there and we went away with much more than jealousy. Two of Egypt’s industry leaders are returning to inspire brides-to-be like they did last year; December 1^st sees a fabulous fashion show by the illustrious Hany El Beheiry, with his couture creations for brides and bridesmaids walking the catwalk from 8PM, while December 2^nd sees Mohamed Al Sagheer himself, alongside his talented team of stylists bring you the latest in hair and beauty on the runway.

Both days will see a plethora of exhibitors from across the country and beyond, whether you’re looking to furnish your new marital home with the latest gadgets and gizmos, or looking for anything from a chocolate fountain to an ice sculptor to make your big day a memorable, you’ll find it here. That’s not to mention that Mohamed Al Sagheer Salons will be offering free consultations at their booth, and there’s loads of free nibbles to keep you going through the day (we’re talking to you, grooms).
