‘Mawadda’ is a national initiative spearheaded by the Ministry of Social Solidarity to provide guidance and support to the Egyptian family, providing lessons on how to maintain a healthy marriage on their digital platform, mawadda-eg.com. In a push for inclusivity and accessibility, these lessons - which are delivered through 21 videos - are now being provided in sign language for people who are hard of hearing and have hearing impairments.

The lessons include educational information on how to choose a life partner, the minutiae of problem solving in a marriage, and exploring the importance of medical examinations before and during the course of your marital relationship.

The platform also raises awareness of the most critical health solutions for family planning and sheds light on the rights between spouses.

The ‘Mawadda’ site was launched at the World Youth Forum in December 2019, and has so far garnered over four million visitors.
