Fans Allowed To Attend Egypt vs Senegal at Cairo Stadium
After a ban that's lasted for two years, fans will finally be able to attend the match between Egypt and Senegal this Saturday!
Egyptian football fans have much to rejoice over, as Sports Minister Khaled Abdel-Aziz has come to an agreement with the Interior Minister to allow fans to attend the African Cup of Nations qualifier at Cairo Stadium on Saturday.
On Saturday, Egypt will be playing a crucial match against Senegal in the qualifiers of the African Cup of Nations. The agreement that was reached allows for 25,000 fans to attend the Saturday match. "A special area will be reserved for those with special needs and 3,000 invitations will be sent to public figures," Abdel-Aziz announced on Monday.
This will come as a welcoming change as a crowd ban has been in effect since 2012. Occasionally, the ban has been lifted for a few fans attending continental matches. This news couldn’t come at a better time, as Saturday’s match is a do or die game for Egypt. Hopefully with the support of fans the Pharaohs may finally be able to use the home field advantage to keep their chances alive.
