Ramy and Hisham Ashour have just launched the fourth location of their Ramy Ashour Squash Academy in the Canadian International School of Egypt in New Cairo.
Fancy booking yourself a squash class with Ramy and Hisham Ashour? The duo has just launched the fourth location of their Ramy Ashour Squash Academy in the Canadian International School of Egypt, with other branches located on the North Coast in Ghazala, Obour City Club, and SODIC East. Yes, they’re totally taking over the squash training scene all across Egypt.
“The idea of the academy took place 10 to 12 years ago,” Ramy Ashour tells #CairoScene. “My brother was about to retire, and he wanted us to have something for the future with our name on it. I love the idea of raising generations, ‘cause we know so much about the game and we wanted to make things easier for them.”
A big part of playing sports is always discipline; following a strict regimen, practising for long hours, and developing the proper reactions to the outcome of the games, and that’s what Ashour is keen on harnessing. He ensures that a lot of talks are being held with parents and coaches to prepare the younger generations to handle winning and losing, as he hones a culture of commitment for the tomorrow’s star players.
And about that class with the Ashour brothers - they don’t just give classes to the top players, so you might end up training with them sometime soon!
