The way in which grain designs their notebooks, with sweet little notes in the pages and inspiring layouts, helps to encourage more mindful habits.
For those who are obsessed with organisation, we’ve found just the brand to serve your every neurotic need in the most gorgeous aesthetic: ‘grain’.
grain is a studio of craftspeople and creatives sharing a love of hand-made crafts, and channel this passion into creating stationery products like notebooks, photo-books, and more. The brand was started by two university graduates with a personal love of giving things from the heart, who sought to add a little of the human touch into our daily lives.
“Little by little we expanded and became the grain family we are today,” the founders tell CairoScene. “During our journey, the grain team has crafted over 1,500 notebooks and counting!” What makes the brand so special is not just the beautiful aesthetic of all their products – it’s their philosophy. “We strive on being very intentional in our work,” they add. “We call them ‘companions’ since they're not just products. They have a story and hold the space for different realities to be documented in their pages.”
The way in which their notebooks are designed, with sweet little notes in the pages and inspiring layouts, are meant to encourage more mindful habits. Essentially, the grain team wants their customers to feel as present and mindful when navigating the chaos of life as they do in navigating the heavy obligations of creating a business from scratch.
“Our vision for grain is to expand towards not only being an Egyptian brand that handcrafts high quality stationery products, but also to become a source of inspiration, encouragement and make an impact personally, socially and environmentally,” they say. “We never consider our leftover material as waste and always strive to integrate more and more eco based materials.”
With a selection of ‘companions' to choose from, the shopaholic may not know where to start. According to the founders, the culina recipe book and per diem planner are a fun place to begin for newcomers to writing and mindfulness practice. grain’s notebook companions are available for purchase online via their website. Happy planning!
