Tash Jewellery: Classic Cool

A unique blend of classic elegance merged with modern funkiness, Tash Jewellery is one of those rare finds that has something for everyone; jewellery that's instantly covetable while also seemingly capable of being able to transcend time. As in, accessories that you and your twenty-something friends will lust over, but on the other side of the spectrum, your aristocratic grandmother – who balks at your ripped jeans – would totally approve.

The brand is the brainchild of sisters Celine and Tina Antaki, who design the pieces together using silver, gold plating, semi-precious stones in saturated hues, and occasionally copper. And the final results are pieces with intricate metalwork infused with stones in gorgeous hues. What caught our eye about the fledgling brand is its versatility; the pieces range from feeling beautiful yet simple, to busy and edgy, and work for everything from weddings to coffee dates.

The sisters launched the brand in 2010. "It was a trial," Celine tells us. "We had made one bracelet and everyone really liked it, so we thought we'd launch our first collection and see how it goes!"

Celine had long been a self-professed accessory junkie, and their father had been in the fashion business forever, so turning to accessory design seemed like a natural progression for the duo, who work together seamlessly. "We complete each other," Celine says of working with her sister to design the pieces. Clearly, good taste runs in the family. And after their first collection, the brand's overwhelmingly positive response inspired them to keep going.

Their aim with the aesthetic of Tash is to go for "a mix between elegant and cool, and at the same time a bit oriental," Celine explains. "Someone with really classic style can wear it, but at the same times it's still hip." The girls always keep current trends in mind while creating, but adapt the pieces to suit their own style.

Needless to say, the effortless elegance of the pieces has had clients coming back for more ever since the brand's inception, and the girls are currently working on a new collection, which we await with bated breath!
