The Brick Pharaoh: Full Time Architect, Part Time Lego Content Creator

As an architect and teaching assistant at Cairo University, Said Abouelseoud has more than enough experience with the ins and outs of construction. When he’s not drawing out blueprints, however, he uses his expertise to create ambitious Lego projects and share them online, building a tight-knit community of Lego enthusiasts alongside his massive brick-based structures.

Dubbing himself The Brick Pharoah, the 25-year-old started sharing his projects online in 2022, hoping to show that the creativity these Legos inspire aren’t just for kids. The tight-knit community revels in the creator’s extensive process and results, which could take more than six hours.

“I’ve always been fascinated by construction, ever since I was a child, which eventually led to both architecture and creating lego content online,” Abouelseoud tells CairoScene. “Lego is actually a useful tool for architects, and can be used to create models sustainably by using the same blocks continuously.”

Abouelseoud’s creations reflect a range of interests. As a Star Wars fanatic, he has filled his home with a vast variety of sci-fi themed pieces, with his favourite being the ‘Mos Eisley Cantina’. He also recreated the Great Pyramids of Giza, and has plans to reproduce Islamic architectural monuments from across Egypt.
