The Week&nd Brings Back The Good Old Days

Slowly inching its way to popularity, Sheikh Zayed is gathering some of the best restaurants, chill-out bars, and the megamall madness of Mall of Arabia. Although the area can be a little bit of a hassle for most of us living at the other end of the city, there are some events that pop up that change our minds about the trip all the way to 6th of October. In a serious attempt to bring back our good old childhood days, where we got to chill out with our parents, siblings, and even cousins, Westown Hub is hosting The Week&nd events series in Egypt organised by Depot Creatif. 

With a series of Week&nds with different themes, Westown Hub is kickin' it old school and making it fun to hang out with mom 'n pop – and the entire extended family – all over again. Kicking it off on Friday the 27th of May at noon is the first Week&nd event, and of course they're starting off with a MUSIC theme. No, not the bump-n-grind type of music - you can't dance to that with your family – but these guys are catering the theme to every member of the family. So there's stuff like music booths – a chance at your 15 minutes of fame with your family in a professional recording studio (you get to keep the CD, too) – and family rock band photo sessions, as well as a totally different approach to music lessons for the little ones. Anyone who owns an instrument or is looking to adopt (read: buy) a used one can head over to the music garage sale where you can buy and sell the gems. Plus, there'll definitely be entertainment and bazaars and all the trimmings.

Now we're nostalgic for days of old, when we didn't have to deal with big kid jobs and quarter life crises. Perhaps it's time to take mom, pop, and the munchkins out for a good old-fashioned weekend with the famjam.
