Looking to encourage people to get more environmentally active, local company Zeroprime Technologies has installed their new CanBank smart machines all around Cairo.
When we think of Cairene streets, three things come to mind: cool architecture, lots of honking, and more littering than there ought to be. Hoping to take care of that third point, local company Zeroprime Technologies has installed their new CanBank smart machines all around Cairo.
The whole concept behind CanBank is to reward you for recycling, and not just with that faint glow of satisfaction you get from putting the plastics in the plastic bin. You put in your finished cans and water bottles, and in return you can receive rewards, phone credit, or discounts. The machine also plays songs and reads funny messages, just to provide that little extra incentive.
The machine is currently available at a number of universities and public spaces, with plans to install more of these machines at supermarkets as well.
