The fashion world is always on the edge of its seat when it comes to New York icon Marc Jacobs' new collections, but this fashion week, the high-end brand says it will be accepting social media as currency at their pop-up shop.
If you had a pound for every tweet, Facebook post and Instagram photo... you'd likely still not be able to afford a drawer-full of Marc Jacobs' finest. Until now. While pop-up shops aren't a new concept, this New York Fashion Week sees the iconic brand put a twist on publicity stunt, allowing shoppers to pay for their designer goods via social media posts. Coinciding with the latst campaign for Marc Jacobs' Daisy perfume and range of accessories, the Daisy Marc Jacobs Tweet Shop will also include a lounge, a photo booth, food, drinks and, importantly, free Wi-Fi, so shoppers can plug into the #MJDaisyChain hashtag to swap tweets for treats. The mechanics of payments aren't clear yet, but one thing is for sure - this ingenious idea will prove invaluable, as thousands of fashionistas will do MJ's marketing for him!
