The flights are expected to to repatriate several hundred thousand Egyptians via Bucharest, Hungary.
The Egyptian Embassy in Budapest has revealed that authorities back home have made the decision to send two daily flights to the Hungarian capital to rescue Egyptians fleeing war-torn Ukraine.
The flights will continue till Friday 11th of March, though few other details have been revealed. Last week, Egyptian Minister of Expatriate Affairs, Nabila Makram, said that over 1,000 Egyptians had already been brought back to Egypt via Bucharest, though with many more expected, the daily flights come as a key component in ongoing efforts to repatriate endangered Egyptians.
The news comes after 177 Egyptian students who had been studying in Ukraine returned safely to Cairo via Poland on Saturday.
