Artist Spotlight: Postcards - Depicting the Beauty & Chaos of Beirut

By veering from moments of gentle instrumentation to those of aggression and catharsis in their music, Lebanese dream pop trio Postcards have developed an malleable sound that lends itself to their constant experimentation.

In this SceneNoise interview at Lebanese alternative music festival Oakenfest, singer-songwriter Julia Sabra talks about how she draws inspiration from unexpected places, citing films, novels, and day to day interactions as sources of the ideas that eventually crystallize in her lyrics. She also takes us into the processes behind the band’s adaptable workflow, where the trio share melodies, guitar riffs, and even fully developed lyrics which they then follow through with and arrange together.

Sabra also talks about her connection to performance and live music, and lets fans know about their plan to release new music in the near future.
