Baklava Featured on Newest compilation from Collective Femme Culture

The Lebanese-British singer, producer and DJ opens up the show on 19-track compilation from the UK collective.

Femme culture is a record label & collective founded in London in 2016 and born out of a desire to champion women in the arts and push forward-thinking music. They are now ready with their 4th collective ‘HeForShe’ mixtape, with proceeds going to UN WOMEN UK with funds being split equally between their ‘Safe Spaces Now’ programme and their Ukraine relief efforts.

Bklava was back in October included in the official soundtrack for EA Sports FIFA 22 with her track ‘thinkin’ of you’. An achievement many musicians around the world surely must be  jealous of, as the video game is currently the best selling in the history of video games and widely known for its colorful soundtrack.

Bklava’s ‘thought you had me’ featured on the compilation is less pop and more drum and bass and features housy vocal lines from the singer along with an almost post-punkish guitar sample, squirky synths and heavy bass filling up space in between the vocals.

Listen to the track below, and make sure to check out the whole compilation, which features a lot of other great productions from artists such as Nicolá Cruz, ELA MINUS and Bambounou.
