Saudi Arabian hip-hop curator and executive producer Big Hass has been taking the initiative to highlight rappers from different countries around the Arab world in his nation-by-nation cypher series. Big Hass has been on a mission to display the best up-and-coming rappers from around the region, from Saudi Arabia to Syria, Iraq, and Sudan.

This time around, Hass brings us the second edition of the ‘Sudan Cypher’, highlighting rappers that are still on the rise, with an impressive roster demonstrating the musical diversity of hip-hop artists in Sudan today.

The instrumental is brought to us by Sudanese star-producer Mshakil, who delivers a rich and nuanced trap beat that incorporates elements of drill music, such as the heavily overdriven, pitch-bending bassline. The track sees a list of 10 emcees showcasing their skilful lyricism and delivery over the intricate instrumental, with a dynamic music video directed by Raed Al-Murish.

The track features artists including, AidyProof, Tageel, Zeyo Mann, Mustafa Idris, Awab, Veto, Rana, Side Effect, T.A and Eaz Da Bully, each showcasing a diverse selection of flows, melodic ideas, and visual styles in the music video. Some of the highlights include Rana’s unique singing style and complex rap flows, Tageel’s crisp and commanding vocal delivery, T.A’s old-school inspired rapping style, and Eaz Da Bully’s aggressive UK drill-style delivery.
