Hamdi RydEr Pays Tribute to Late Cheb Terro in ‘Pink Magic’ Rework

The high-energy tribute mix seeks to serve as an upbeat track that celebrates Cheb Terro.

After the passing of Tunisian hip hop trailblazer, Cheb Terro, who died at the age of 24 in March 2021, Hamdi RydEr, the founder of Tunisian label Eddisco Records, produced a remix of Cheb Terro and Ratchopper’s ‘Pink Magic’, and the Tunisian DJ has released the song as a tribute to the late artist.

Despite maintaining the chords and progressions, Hamdi RydEr transforms the sound by mixing up the percussion with a breakbeat touch and a glitchy panned synth as the main melody line. Using chopped vocals from Cheb Terro, the high-energy tribute mix seeks to serve as an upbeat, optimistic track that looks towards celebration, while an instrumental version channel Cheb Terro’s musical spirit beyond his voice.
