Laselky Releases 'The Holy Land' Compilation for Palestine

Egyptian label Laselky presents 'The Holy Land', a compilation EP featuring leading figures in Egypt’s electronic music scene dedicated to the Palestinian cause. With nine tracks by Hassan Abou Alam, Baher, Karim Yousry, Saharty, Joey, Fady El-Tellawy, Adam, Jorg, and Shunus, all profits generated from the EP will be directly donated to organisations supporting Palestine.

“The EP sheds light about our stance on Palestine and at the same time attracts anyone who likes the music of the compilation,” Khaled Youssry, founder of La Selky, tells SceneNoise. “The EP’s artwork, which has the Palestinian flag with a quote written around it, truly shows how our artists stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people.”

The EP features an array of high-BPM, experimental electronic beats, weaved into groovy house rhythms. Carrying a futuristic atmosphere, the tracks are complimented by distinctive synths, unique sampling and dub-infused melodic patterns. The EP is introduced by Hassan Abou Alam’s ‘Waiting’, a disjointed and punky opening track and ends on a more trancy tune named ‘You don-t See Dub’ crafted by Karim Yousry.

Looking to elevate the international profile of Egyptian artists through strategic releases and collaborations with agencies abroad, Laselky has launched several projects to enrich Egypt’s music scene. The Selk party series establishes a secure and vibrant music-centric environment, complemented by the Kadr platform, which actively promotes local artists through parties, video sessions, and radio mixes. Their Wasla community gatherings provide attendees with enlightening talks from keynote speakers, while their Eza’a radio initiative covers mastering costs for submitted mixes.
