Morocco’s MOGA Festival Returns to Essaouira

Taking place between the high-end Sofitel Essaouira Mogador Golf & Spa and the entire surrounding town of Essaouira, MOGA’s 5th edition will host an eclectic program comprising music, wellness, art and talks which make up the festival’s unique DNA.

Still buzzing from the success of their Portuguese iteration on the shores of the Costa da Caparica last June, MOGA is set to welcome 16,000 festival-goers from all corners of the earth to the bohemian coastal town of Essaouira.

The UNESCO world heritage site is nestled along Morocco’s western coastline and has long served as a creative haven for artists and free spirits, providing rejuvenation and inspiration for music industry legends such as Jimmy Hendrix and Yusuf/Cat Stevens.

The first two days of the festival will witness Essouira playing host to the ‘OFF’ programme, with both paid and free events, including yoga classes, a range of creative workshops, and a concert at the breathtaking Sqala du Port.

The Sofitel will then take centre stage for the following three days with the ‘IN’ programme, with no less than five stages across the property, and a flavourful lineup of regional and international acts to grace them.

Artists from across the globe are confirmed to take part including underground French techno SOMETHING Dyed Soundorom, Berliner Shkoon, Romanian techno pioneer Rhadoo, house DJ Jayda G all the way from Canada, London’s own Taylah Elaine, as well as electrifying performances from Margaret Dygas, tINI, A Guy Called Gerald, Maurice Fulton, Fumiya Tanaka, Guedra Guedra, Amnaye, and many more.

MOGA brings together a community of over thirty nationalities twice a year in Portugal and Morocco with a shared desire to discover, share, and experiment. Discovery of artists, places, and local culture courses through the veins of MOGA’s concept.

3-day passes are available for 2390MAD/239EUR. For full details and ticketing information, head to www.mogafestival.com.
