Rap of the Week | Sept 7-13
The SceneNoise radar picked up new music by the likes of Dada, Montiyago and Ziad Zaza.
In this instalment of our 'Rap of the Week' playlist, we’ve selected and curated some of the best hip-hop releases from across the MENA region over the past week. The SceneNoise radar picked up new music by the likes of Dada, Montiyago and Ziad Zaza.
Kicking off the playlist is Ziad Zaza with his track 'AH', part of his surprise EP 'EZ'. The track stands out for its production, handled by Le Zuz, who incorporates 'sexy-drill' elements that complement Zaza's raw delivery and melodic flows.
Also featured is Moroccan rapper Dada’s latest release, 'ABRACADABRA', in collaboration with Abduh. The two rappers ride an experimental beat produced by YAN, Dada’s exclusive producer.
Rounding out the playlist is 'Ilmond' from Muhab’s full-length LP 'Intifada'. Produced by Safi Rdaf, the track features a progressive boom-bap beat that allows Muhab to showcase his vocal inflections and flow switches while critiquing the music industry’s dynamics.
