Egyptian artists Samar Tarik and El Waili’s track, ‘3atma’, has just been announced as the theme song for Shahid original mini-series ‘Safah El Giza’.

After being featured on Ramadan series ‘El Harsha El Sabaa’ with their track ‘Law’, Samar Tarik’s classical vocal style and El Waili’s distinctive production lend themselves yet again to the works of Egyptian showrunners. This time, it’s serving as the precursor to an intense thriller based on the true story of a serial killer in Giza.

Despite the track’s ominous lyrics and title, it carries a sense of weightlessness due to its serene instrumental and playful melody, contrasting the darker themes of the show’s storyline with its dissociative calmness.

‘Safah El Giza’ also marks El Waili’s first venture into scoring for television, having created the soundtrack for the highly anticipated series.

Directed by Hadi El Bagoury and co-written by Emad Mattar and Injy Abouelseoud, the series is set to air on August 25th. The mini-series see comedian Ahmed Fahmy take on his first dramatic role alongside co-stars Rakeen Saad, Bassem Samra, and Salah Abdallah.
