SceneNoise to Host Panel on the Future of Music Distribution at XP

With the current state of the global music industry undergoing rapid changes, it can be difficult to stay ahead of the curve on best practices to maximize visibility and reach on streaming platforms and social media outlets. However, things haven’t always been this way - particularly when major record labels had a stronger grasp on music’s exposure.

Whether the changes to the industry are positive or negative is a tough question to tackle. On the one hand, the democratization of music has enabled many-an-artist to pursue their music careers. But it has also limited the reach that independent musicians can accomplish on their own, with some outliers amassing a wide audience through social media outlets.

During XP Music Futures, which will take place at Riyadh Jax District in Saudi Arabia from December 7th to the 9th, SceneNoise is set to host a discussion panel on the development of music distribution throughout the years, and the impact it has had on the recording industry. Furthermore, we will be taking a look at how these changes apply to the MENA region’s rising alternative scene, which has been breaking into an international industry which has already been affected by these changes.

Speakers Timmy Mowafi (CEO of SceneNoise), Alain Zovighian (Head of Music at Bolero), Meike Nolte (Global Business Development at b:electronic / Believe), Ahmed Al Rasheed (Managing Director of Anghami KSA), and Lara Khoury (consultant and booking agent, Quartertone) will take a deep-dive into the evolution of music distribution along the years.

The panel will take place on Day 3 of XP Music Futures. You can book your tickets by heading to mdlbeast.com
