Travis Scott's Pyramids Concert Has Been Cancelled

The concert, originally scheduled for Friday, July 28th, has been - officially - cancelled.

US-based event organisers Live Nation, responsible for setting up American artist Travis Scott's first performance in Egypt at the pyramids, have just announced its cancellation through a statement on the Middle East-centric Twitter account.

"Unfortunately, despite the highest efforts, complex production issues meant that the show could not be constructed in the desert," Live Nation wrote. "Refunds will be issued to all ticket holders at their point of purchase."

The reveal has been causing a maelstrom on social media across the world but in Egypt especially. On July 17th, the Egyptian Musicians Syndicate revoked the artist's performing license, while Live Nation released an exclusive statement to global music publication, Billboard, on July 20th, claiming that the concert hadn't been cancelled and that they, "can’t wait to celebrate Utopia with you in Egypt!”
