Blurr Fest Line-up Revealed

Blurr Fest, the two-day shebang set to take over Sahl Hasheesh this month, has just announced their star studded line-up of superstar international DJs and our minds are blown - just looking at the flyers makes our head spin. Such big names all coming over for the two day festival is definitely unprecedented. You know you're in for a treat when every single DJ on the flyer has a logo.

First, needing no introduction is one of the world's most unique and captivating DJs and producers that the Techno scene has brought forward over the past decade; Frenchman Sébastien Léger. Next up are the legendary duo responsible for such hits such as Body Language, Nightfalls, and In White Rooms - yes you guessed Booka Shade. As if all this wan't enough the bill still boasts a number of other international DJs, such as Technasia, and the duo known as Soul Clap. The bill also includes dance music veteran responsible for the hit Patricia Never Leaves the House, none other than Mr. Wally Lopez, as well as the El-Row residents that just played a captivating and mind-blowing set at the Psychedelic themed El-Row Sahel party this summer; Tony Varga, and De La Swing. In addition the line-up will also feature Los Suruba, Marc Maya, Edu Imbernon and last but not least, AND.ID live. "We were thinking of meeting European standards with this line-up" Said resident DJ & Founder Abousamra, adding " With this line-up we really wanted to take things to the next level."

On top of all the A-list DJs mentioned above is a powerful line-up of some of the best local talent the country has to offer. Aly Bahgat, AbouSamra, M Fayek, Misty and Hafez. With these decknicians on hand, we're almost certain, we will not be able to stop dancing for 48 hours straight. Blurr's parties are now trying to diversify from their Spanish Tech-House signature. We spoke to one of the Blurr founders, Coco Mokhtar who he said, "You know our parties have a particular style in music. mainly Spanish Tech House however recently we have been trying to diversify. Anja Schneider for example, who played at our last event, has a more more Berlin-ish Techno-ish sound to her sets, and this upcoming festival will cover a lot of other genres. We have Soul Clap, a booking that's more soulful Deep Funk and chilled House; Technasia will be closing the festival and he plays a lot of bangers and upbeat music. We have the guys from Elrow, of course but my favorite booking of the festival so far is Booka Shade; their set will be that cherry on top. I've loved their work since I was a kid, and I can safely say that most of us growing up around that same time did as well."

We here at CairoScene have been impressed over and over again by the atmosphere, the vibe, the bookings and the music that these guys at Blurr have been consistently putting out one event after the other. It's become almost a guarantee that you will find us dancing the night away at every Blurr event. Hats off guys yet again for what will undoubtedly be another kick-ass event.
