Funk Band Jamiroquai Release their First Single in Seven Years

Jay Kay and his eight man strong hit factory Jamiroquai are back after a long, quiet, and much frowned upon seven year absence. On January 17th they teased fans with a new album called Automaton by posting a cryptic video with an ear provoking sound snippet at the end of it. It also showed Jay Kay sporting new headgear straight out of a sci-fi movie. On the 27th they finally released the full video of the title single and it sounds like the album will be a true evolution of their funk sounds, keeping that timeless feel they’re famous for, while somehow managing to sound very 2017.They also announced a ten concert tour on their official website kicking off in Paris, London, and Tokyo with more dates to be announced. The album is scheduled for a March 31st release on Virgin EMI. Jamiroquai’s comeback is regarded by many as the biggest musical icon return since Daft Punk’s 2013 re-emergence after a similarly lengthy break. It seems like no one can wait to get their hands on the album and it’s completely understandable - a seven year silence from a band with millions of fans and dozens of hits is simply too cruel.

Follow Jamiroquai on Facebook for updates and check out their soundcloud for some classics.
