Soirée French Touch Ft. Costello & Maurice Louca

The French have given Egypt a lot of things, croissants, omlette du fromage, "merci", Sofitel, "ascenseurs", Beaulac, Downtown architecture, that bridge what hipsters take pictures on. They also took the Sphinx's nose but we're going to over look that because on April 23rd the Institut Français d'Egypte are putting on an awesome Underground Electronica gig for hipsters to go take pictures at featuring Costello from France and Maurice Louca from Egypt.

Five seconds into listening to Costello you get the sense that this guy is fresh; a pendulum between Techno, House and Electronica with hard hitting Avant-Garde noise and beats fluttering in between without losing dancability. His tracks have done the rounds international played by acts such as Brodinski, Mumbai Science, Djedjotronic, Dr Lektroluv and even the legend that is Boys Noize himself selected one of his tracks Fabric Live 72 mix.

Maurice Louca is probably the most significantly recognised left-field musicians in Egypt at the moment; his previous album release Benhayyi Al-Baghbaghan made the top 100 list of most moddish international best of 2014 lists. A curious and mesmerising concoction of Shaabi music and experimental break-beat.

Get on it. Free entry. the event takes place April 23rd, 8:00 PM - 1:00 AM at The French Insitute of Egypt.
