Egypt To Build 20 New Cities to Accommodate Overpopulation
Sexy, Serene & Insta-Perfect: El Gouna's Casa Cook Might be the Coolest Hotel in Egypt
While El Gouna is best known for its laid-back little hotels
intermingled with a few big international resort chains, high-end
creative concepts have been slower to set up shop... until Casa Cook discreetly opened its unbearably stylish doors.
Nestled amidst blue lagoons, shimmering at the foot of the Red Sea’s rugged mountains, El Gouna
has long been one of Egypt’s most desirable destinations. And whilst
the seaside town is best known for its laid-back little hotels
intermingled with a few big international resort chains, high-end
creative concepts have been slower to set up shop. For years the
luscious La Maison Bleue (a stunning Small Luxury Hotel of the World)
stood alone as a whimsical world-class offering for the discerning and demanding traveller. Until earlier this year that is, when Casa Cook discreetly opened its unbearably stylish doors (not to be confused with its hipster little sister Cook’s Club). Overlooking the azure waters that languidly lap the shores of El Gouna, Casa Cook is quite possibly the most Instagrammable thing to hit the seaside village yet.
The
iridescent interiors of the 100-room adult-only hotel are inspired by
the sandy ruggedness of its surroundings, laced with a touch of Arabic
architecture, all packaged in signature neutral nature-vibes insta-chic.
The
rooms – ranging from Standard Rooms to Villas – feel earthy and
private, with private terraces, cool ceramics, shades of burnt orange
and I-never-want-to-leave linens. Oh wait, for we are not done... more
than half the rooms feature a picture-perfect private pool!
There
is a desert-style Beach Club which opens onto panoramic views of the
lagoon and a leave-your-worries behind spa that is worth visiting even
if you can’t bag yourself a room for the night.
The Casa Cook
brand - conceptualized as a “community, where like-minded people come to
relax, revel, explore and soak up the laid-back vibes” - first gained
fame on the Greek islands of Rhodes and Kos before making its way to #Egypt.
So if you’ve spent the last few months insta-wanderlusting over
fabulous far-flung destinations, it’s worth remembering that sometimes
there’s no place like home, and round here, ‘Mi Casa Es Tu Casa’...
always.
