It’s been a good year for Egyptian arts, from the stunning #ForeverisNow exhibition being held at the Pyramids, to the global recognition of Egyptian films at El Gouna Film Festival and beyond. Now, four Egyptian musicians - namely Amr Diab, Ruby, Mohamed Ramadan and Haidy Moussa - have been nominated for the All African Music Awards (AFRIMA), along with Samira Said, a Moroccan pop artist based in Egypt.
All five of the artists have been nominated for the ‘Best Artist in North Africa’ award in the male or female categories. The AFRIMAs reviewed over 8,880 songs released over the past year to compile the final list, with the final results to be decided on a public vote. Meaning you can have a say in who the winner will be!
The AFRIMAs will be held in Lagos, Nigeria on November 19th to November 21st. To vote, visit afrima.org
