Official Poster Revealed for Egyptian Film ‘The Brink of Dreams’
The announcement comes as the film prepares to participate in the official competition at the seventh El Gouna Film Festival.
Felucca Films has released the official poster for ‘The Brink of Dreams’, an Egyptian documentary directed by Nada Riyadh and Ayman El Amir, ahead of its theatrical release in Egyptian cinemas on November 6th.
The announcement comes as the film prepares to participate in the official competition at the 7th El Gouna Film Festival, taking place from October 24th to November 1st. The film tells the story of a group of young women who form a theater troupe in their village, performing plays inspired by traditional Upper Egyptian folklore, and dreaming of becoming stars despite numerous challenges.
The film features the Panorama Barsha Troupe, including performers like Magda Masoud, Haidi Sameh and Marina Samir, and has been acclaimed for its emotional depth and powerful storytelling. Earlier in 2024, ‘The Brink of Dreams’ made history as the first Egyptian film to win the prestigious L'Œil d'or (Golden Eye Award) for Best Documentary Film at the 77th Cannes Film Festival.
Following its debut at Cannes, the film has participated in several prestigious film festivals, including the Chicago Film Festival, Biarritz Film Festival, and DokuFest.
