The Jesuit Association in Cairo Reopens Studio Nasibian Theatre

The Scientific and Cultural Renaissance Association - Jesuit Cairo celebrated the reopening of the Studio Nasibian Theater. The theatre, which suffered a devastating fire on October 31st, 2021, has been meticulously restored.

The reopening ceremony took place at the Association's headquarters in Faggala, with attendance by invitation only. The event coincides with the Association's 25th anniversary and the first anniversary of the passing of its founder, Father William Sidhom Jesuit.

The celebrations continued with a Divine Liturgy at the Holy Family School in Ramses, followed by a special screening of ‘Father of Dreams’, a film directed by Mustafa Al-Dali, at the Studio Nasibian Theater.

The reopening also marks the beginning of a festive week of activities by the Association’s art schools. The festivities include a screening of films by graduates from Jesuit cinema schools in Cairo and Upper Egypt on May 21st. On May 23rd, The School of Animation will showcase a decade of its productions, including interactive ‘Stop Motion’ performances. On May 24th, NAS School for Social Theatre will present theatrical performances by current students and graduates.
