This Designer from Cairo Is Recreating Masterpieces With Nothing But Flowers
Designer Zinab Chahine makes these adorable frames with iconic pictures and dried flowers.
There’s no better and more timeless gift than a bouquet of flowers. People have been giving and receiving flowers since forever, the only problem with this classic gift is that flowers wilt. But this designer found a way to make flowers last forever.
Zinab Chahine, a designer from Cairo, is pressing flowers and using them to make these beautiful frames. “I wanted to do something with flowers, and I really liked the way they looked after they were dried, but putting them alone in the frame was kind of boring so I put in the art work” Zinab tells us. Chahine used art pieces that she loved like Van Gogh’s The Starry Night and pictures that people love seeing like of Frida Kahlo and Bob Dylan.
What she does is she puts the flowers between two pieces of paper to dries them then chooses a photo to incorporate into one of her many gorgeous pieces, but it was a learning process. She tells us “the first time I tried to dry the flowers I used foil instead of paper and I ended up ruining it, so I had to do a little bit of research”
You can get these adorable frames from Azraq w Bunny in Dokki, or online on her facebook page.
