250K Food Boxes to Be Distributed to Irregular Workers During Ramadan

During the holy month of Ramadan, 250,000 aid boxes, a monthly stipend of EGP 1,000, and one pound of salt will be distributed to irregular workers throughout Egypt. The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, and the Ministry of Labour.

The protocol aims to support irregular workers to help better integrate them into the formal economy and to obtain necessary food nutrition during Ramadan.

During the announcement, Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, said that this protocol comes as a continuation of Egypt's Vision 2030’s goals of achieving basic life commodities to low income populations. Part of the vision’s goal is to do so by providing these basic living commodities at more reasonable prices.
