Egypt to Host FIBA Africa Women’s Clubs Champions Cup For the First Time

The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) for Africa have officially announced that Egypt will host the FIBA Africa Women's Club Champions Cup for the first time in the competition’s 34-year old history. The championship will take place at the Cairo Indoor Stadium from December 6th until December 15th.

All eyes will be on Egypt after the women’s national team's win at the 3x3 Africa Cup earlier this month in Uganda, with a stunning 18-15 victory against Mali. Emerging from the competition as Egypt's next basketball superstar, is Soraya Mohamed, aka “The Queen of Egypt”, who we couldn't be more excited to watch in action at home. Soraya was named the Top Scorer for Afrobasket 2019.

Representing Egypt will be Al Ahly and Alexandria's Sporting Club. Air Warrior (Nigeria), ASB Makomeno (DR Congo), City Hornets (Zimbabwe), Energie (Benin), FAP (Cameroon), Inter Clube (Angola) and JKL Dolphins (Uganda) are among the teams participating in the competition this year.
