Giza Pyramids Site to Begin Trial Operations With New Entrance
Visitors will soon enter via the Fayoum Road, with expanded tourism services ahead of the official inauguration in July.

The redevelopment of the Giza Pyramids Plateau is entering its final stages, with trial operations set to begin on April 7th. The transformed visitor experience will include a new entrance via Fayoum Road, replacing the traditional access point near the Mena House Hotel, according to Amr Gazzarin, CEO of the company overseeing the site’s development.
The trial phase will allow for the full operation of all tourism services within the site, including a new visitor centre, a cinema screening a documentary on the pyramid builders, and an upgraded transport system designed to enhance accessibility. This period will serve to identify and resolve any potential logistical challenges before the official opening.
The redevelopment aligns with the Egyptian government’s vision of turning the Pyramids Plateau into a global archaeological tourism capital. The upgraded facilities and improved visitor flow will coincide with the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum on July 3rd.
The ongoing works include enhancements to visitor pathways, expanded parking areas, new bazaar spaces, and eco-friendly transportation services connecting key points within the site. Visitors will follow a structured route across seven key stops, offering a redefined tour of Egypt’s most iconic landmark.
