Jumia Chic Awards Nominations Are Out
Egypt's first fashion awards will celebrate 10 movers and shakers in the local industry - and you get to vote on who wins!
The official word of 2014 has not been chosen, however, it should be "fashion blogging" - at least in Egypt. The social media spheres were littered with up-and-coming fashion enthusiasts last year that were giving their two cents on trends, outfits and colours, and helping expose the movers and shakers in the local fashion scene. Jumia Chic has now revealed the nominees for the very first Jumia Chic Asfour Awards which will ceremoniously celebrate ten winners in a range of categories next month. The voting takes place online and none other than you and the rest of the world wide web determine who takes home the glory.
Designers, fashion bloggers, models, stylists and make-up artists are all part of the 32-piece ensemble that may call themselves Jumia nominees from now on. With Egypt’s fashion scene blossoming, the awards are an effort to “help build sustainability for this burgeoning industry,” Tamer El Fiky, Marketing Manager of Jumia Egypt said in a statement. Guidelines for winners have been released to ensure that the best of the best will win and bestow honour on the future of Egypt’s fashion industry.
Some nominees have had long-lasting careers and an established name in the industry, others are at the beginning of their career with an incredible amount of talent and determination. Only ten of them will be able to call themselves owners of the specially designed Asfour Crystal award by the end of next month.
