A new summer training programme for aspiring nuclear engineers, spearheaded by the King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy and King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, has been launched in Saudi Arabia.
Targeting undergraduate engineering students, the eight-week program will be held partly in Saudi Arabia and partly at the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute in South Korea.
The curriculum includes lectures and practical experiments, as well as visits to nuclear facilities and reactors in South Korea.
This initiative is part of the kingdom’s plan to develop an educated workforce for its nuclear energy industry.
